Planning a family trip to Karlovy Vary? Then make time to visit the Butterfly House in the Diana complex. It’s open year-round, with hundreds of butterflies from around the world fluttering freely — the largest boasting a wingspan of up to 20 cm. There are no barriers; butterflies fly around you and may even land on you. In the breeding area, you’ll see all stages of their life cycle — eggs, caterpillars, cocoons — and with a bit of luck, a butterfly emerging right before your eyes.
You can’t access the site by car. Park at Hotel Pupp and walk or take the funicular up.
